Triumph Racing is excited to announce its partnership with ThruDark. The British, high performance clothing and equipment brand will be the official Teamwear sponsor of Triumph’s Supersport and Sportbike teams for the British and World Championships.
Founded by two former members of the UK’s Special Forces, ThruDark designs functional and durable outerwear and expedition equipment for a range of hostile environments and conditions. The “ThruDark” name itself represents the brand’s mantra, “Endeavour Through Adversity” signifying the fortitude to endure difficult situations - a mantra that aligns aptly with Triumph Racing’s Supersport and Superbike teams. With many parallels between elite military operations and high level motorsports, the shared values of both Triumph and ThruDark make this a formidable partnership founded on not just physical performance but a winning mentality too.
Building beyond values, the ThruDark team brings a unique skill set in terms of hands-on experience, with both of the brand’s co-founders having served in military mobility troops. Requiring an aptitude for engineering on the move, the two have transferred this practical knowledge into an authentic passion for motorcycles in their lives post-military. Now, supported by an experienced product design team, ThruDark design, develop and test performance clothing to the highest level with current pursuits ranging from mountaineering to active wear, desert clothing, cycling and more. Unveiling a partnership alongside Triumph Racing provides a bold new opportunity for the two British brands to develop and redefine the limits of performance clothing as well as inspiring new audiences.
Already in good company, ThruDark is proud to work with a number of notable ambassadors such as former Royal Marines Commando and SBS operator Jason Fox “Foxy’, mostly known for his work on Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins as well as writing a range of best selling books on the subject of resilience and mental health. Also on ThruDark’s roster is one of the greatest female track cyclists of all time, former Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton CBE - now also a keen motorcycle enthusiast and proud Triumph rider. Other well known ThruDark faces include former UKSF operator and author Ollie Ollerton, world cruiserweight boxing champion Chris Billam-Smith alongside numerous rising stars from the world of sport and adventure such as wildlife biologist Lizzie Daly, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu prodigy Nathan Johnstone and explorer Ness Knight. Whether it’s on the sporting field, track or the mountain side, ThruDark is able to rely on an array of inspiring individuals with a wealth of authentic experiences as well as technical ability.
The PTR Triumph Racing team in the Supersport World Championship, along with the Macadam Triumph Racing and MIH Macadam Triumph Racing teams in the British Supersport and National Sportbike Championships have already received their new ThruDark gear for use at the races in their respective series and look forward to sporting this for the upcoming season.
Ian Kimber – Head Of Off-Road Programmes, Triumph Motorcycles
“The partnership with ThruDark is one we’re very proud of, and for sure this runs so much deeper than just a product supply for our racing teams. The team at ThruDark is full of people with so much infectious enthusiasm and passion for what they do, that everyone at Triumph is truly excited about what the future may hold. Our Supersport and Sportbike teams have been supplied with a selection of ThruDark technical clothing for the 2024 race season in both the British and World Championships. Working with a brand that has been founded upon excellence in the military with a focus on premium quality products, as well as having an interesting roster of athletes and ambassadors across an array of high-profile sports, is something that resonates with Triumph and we look forward to working together over the coming season.”
Louis Tinsley - ThruDark Co-Founder
“The opportunity to work alongside another British heritage brand in Triumph is a really proud moment for us. Not only that but a British brand, like ourselves that prides itself on demanding product quality, high performance where it matters and inspiring existing and new audiences. Seeing a Triumph makes you want a motorbike, whether you can ride or not and we want the same pull for ThruDark as an aspirational brand. With mine and Staz’ backgrounds in mobility troop and our love for motorbikes, a partnership with Triumph is the perfect fit for us. It is our hope that we can build on this for many years to come with the ability to fly the flag for Great Britain on the international stage and show the world what we are capable of.”
